Today, Im on a RANT...I been pretty good lately, however...

Lately, my lastest postings have been about Music, artists and more music...

Today, Im gonna segway a bit, check it, to "some" I been really good lately, staying away from judgmental and critical postings, that isn't really me folks! I believe that as Christians we are called to judge each other in love, that is if you are and call yourself a Christian. See I have lost a lot of friends to this thinking, which by the way is a Biblically sound TRUTH, I will reference the verse a lil later, just keep reading. Allow me to continue, see when you love someone and they are error, you correct them, that is if you truly love that person, this is the same principle God applies to us as his chosen and elected ones!

Last night I saw this "so called Christian" movie named "To Save a Life." This movie is/was so wishy washy it is soooo sad to watch, granted there were valid and "real" situations in the movie, the liberty the writers/producers took to portray Christians and Christianity was and is extremely poor, terrible and absurd. Listen, what upsets me most is that I know Churches that operate in this manner, really. The Christian leadership portrayed in the movie was absolutely ridiculous, weak and comprimisers. Im not gonna get into details concerning the plot, I personally hate spoilers.

I will say the following, NO WHERE IN THE ENTIRE MOVIE WAS THE GOSPEL EVER PRESENTED, NO WHERE!! Yes, Im shouting!!! This stuff frustrates me, see the changing power of GOD is in the Gospel, besides God Himself intervening, However the Word, the Bible is His Word, and ultimate authority. GOD WILL NEVER, step out his word and contradict Himself for the sake of saving people. NEVER, the Bible says that God is no liar, and therefore He will NEVER defy His WORD!! PERIOD, no ifs, ands or buts! Secondly, the name of Jesus was only mentioned ONCE! Uno, 1! Mind you, this is supposedly a Christian film, yet they did comprimise with other nonsense, I will not mention them, watch the movie and you will see what Im talking about.

I think that this movie can teach us something, that is those of us who are seriously serious about this walk. Being good isn't the way to God, we respond to God in obedience, not because we do good deeds, or the "right thing" that we will inherit eternal life, no that is a wrong motive for doing the right thing. You ought to do the right thing because it honors God and pleases Him! You see we aren't saved by works, your deeds don't make you a better person, or more "Saved." Your deeds don't even bring you closer to God, OBEDIENCE does! Honoring Him Does! Praying does! But these things don't keep us "Saved." There is nothing we can do to "keep" salvation or stay "Saved." NOTHING, NADA, NADA, NADA! Eternal life is a Gift from God, he Chooses us, His Amazing Grace is what is being demonstrated here, not because we "deserve" it. NOOOO, sorry, According to Scripture if it wasn't for God taking the first step towards us, we would never turn to HIM!!! NEVER!! We would never trust Him with our lives! We don't have that ability naturally, God has to initiate this within us, then we can turn to Him and Trust Him!

As the ESV Study Bible states in the notes for

John 6:44, No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him.

No one can come to me means “no one is able to come to me” (Greek. dynamai means “to be able”). This implies that no human being in the world, on his own, has the moral and spiritual ability to come to Christ unless God the Father draws him, that is, gives him the desire and inclination to come and the ability to place trust in Christ!

I know this isn't easy for all to grasp, but this is Scripture, and I'm only pointing out one of the many verses that insinuate this concept, therefore TRUTH!

My point in all this? Trust that the Bible is sufficient and that people truly are saved when they place their trust in God, because He has begun a good thing in them. Not because of your wonderful presentation of what Christianity is about, or lack there of the Gospel, remember relentlessly Preach Christ and Him Crucified, for this is the Crux of our message, Preach the full Gospel, not just your testimony. Preach the full counsel of GOD!! Don't rely on yourself, if you do, then you might as well quit, cause you aren't winning people to you, you aren't making people "your" disciples, But Christ's Disciples! I was there, I once relied on my efforts to "win" some, don't get me wrong God is sovereign, he does as he pleases, and His GRACE abounds, but it sucks to rely on yourself, truthfully there really isn't any genuine fruit in it! False converts is what that creates, Rely on the MASTER, rely on the one who calls, and changes hearts, and brings people back from the DEAD!!

I was once dead, but thanks be to God, I am no longer on that path, Giod is hHis ultimate GRACE was merciful to me!

For those of you who say things such as "only God can judge me," here's that verse I mantioned that I was going to give you, here it goes:

For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”
(1 Corinthians 5:12-13 ESV)

Thats the Word of God, not my words, what do you think? I will get back to you soon, maybe in the next few days!

So for now, go check out that garbage of a movie, and learn what not to do!

Everyone knows that I'm ANTI-ABORTION!!! Well, this song deals with abortion. Now, I'm posting this song with some hesitation, my reasons are simply due to not endorsing the artist for doctrinal and theological purposes, so for that very reason I am not going to be providing any information concerning the artist. You may ask, "Then why are you posting the song, if you don't agree with his Doctrine and stuff?" Well, though I don't endorse the artist, I do think that this song is well worth the listen, the approach and concept is unique and interesting, doesn't touch much on doctrine, so I don't have conflict with this particular song. If you want the artists name, e-mail me or respond to this thread with your e-mail and I will gladly forward the artist's name to you.

So Appropriate, for such a time as this, so Moving and Heart Wrenching

When you get an opportunity please listen to this track, it's called "Pain" by Da Truth, really good song!!

I'm Praying for you Haiti!!!

Quote from Video:
~Driscoll states to Haitian Pastor “...You love Jesus, you teach the Bible, you marry a woman, you have 4 children, you're serving the Lord in ministry, and now you're wife is gone, your Church is gone, your home is gone, your Bible college is gone, why do you smile, where is your joy...”

~Haitian Pastor answers “...Well, it's from the Lord...”

This video of snapshots and clips of footage is so moving, my heart truly goes out to the Haitians, believe it or not, I am more embarrassed of our American Culture. How neglectful, selfish, and self-centered we are in this Country. The they had a awful experience, I have seen more positive responses from the suffering than Americans, who don't even know the half!

It is truly well in their soul, what an appropriate song! Praise God for Churches Helping Churches Organization, and of course Mark Driscoll and James Macdonald on the forefront!

Deuteronomy 8
Remember the Lord Your God

8 “The whole commandment that I command you today you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land that the Lord swore to give to your fathers. 2 And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. 3 And he humbled you and a let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. 4 Your clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years. Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you. 6 So you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and by fearing him. 7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in the valleys and hills, 8 a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey, 9 a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. 10 And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.

Praise the Lord!

Whats good? A little observation concerning Jin the MC, who happens to be a "Christian".

I say in my title "Jin...who is a "Christian"", very loosely. There is a sorta fascination with celebrities who convert to Christianity, and honestly I am weary of these events. You may ask "Why are you so critical, judgmental, and/or concerned, Les?" To be honest, I really dont know how these converted privileged "Christians" live, I am not judging that at all, what I can judge is what is presented to me through the Media, which isnt a great source in the first place. However, with blogs, videos (YouTube) and internet resources we have a means to see more than what the media shows us. Which brings me to the subject of today's Blog, JIN the MC. I dont know if and any of you know who Jin is, this is a link to a description from wikipedia, which isnt a great source but this info is confirmed: >>>Click Here

Anyways, back to my post, the reason I'm blogging, answering the "Why?" portion of your question , why Jin? Here it goes, Jin released a song and video claiming Christ, first the song right here:

So naturally I hear this, and I get excited, because Jin with all respect is a sick MC, I figured that this guy with the right guidance, discipleship and leadership can be an instrumental tool for the KINGDOM!

So then, He releases this video:

After watching this video it excites me even further, seems very sincere, and now Im believing that he is truly converted. He does an interview with DaSouth.com <<Click Here

So, a week or so later Jin drops this remix of a popular song by Drake, though I dont know the first thing about Drake, I hear he is the "next big thing" the name of the son is "The Best" listen here>>>

So now, Im stoked, though the song isnt the "best" Theological or Doctrinal, I see hope in Jin, and hopefully he hooks up with the right people, nah mean. I know that Flame has reached out tho him, I also am aware of other sound rappers and producers who have made contact with Jin.

Now, bring me to the latest concerning this progress, Jin releases a video a few days ago, Im not too sure about the details but accepts or challenges these freestyle battle mc's to a battle mid November in California. Here's the video:

So this is why, I mainly posted this blog today, is it possible to Battle and be a Christian? When you view the video, you get this sense of "cockiness" and "arrogance" from Jin, is that Christ-Like? I understand that this is the nature battling, but does this justify it? I mean is it safe to say that by saying he wants to battle two dudes on the same day, you assume that he is saying that whomever he battles first already caught the L? I know that Jin knows what to expect, and he may have a plan. I just hope he doesnt disappoint us, me? Im just tired of the likes such as Ma$e, DMX, KRS-ONE, R-Kelly, CoCo, and these other so called Christians who claim to follow Christ but their fruit as we see it says otherwise.

Jin, I am truly praying for you, I hope your conversion is genuine, dont compromise and remember to always seek HIS kingdom first, and all else shall follow.

Thank you for reading.

Is Total Depravity Biblical? Day 3

A friend of ours sent me this link for Total Depravity, I liked it a lot so I posted it! Yesterday, I posted a lot of Scriptural Verses that support Total Depravity, and I thought that following up with this was appropriate!

Question: "Total Depravity - is it Biblical?"

Answer:
Total Depravity is a phrase or name that is used to summarize what the Bible teaches about the spiritual condition of fallen man. It is the “T” in the acronym TULIP, which is commonly used to enumerate what are known as the five points of Calvinism or the doctrines of grace. Because the name “total depravity” can cause people to have wrong ideas about what is meant, some people prefer to use terms like “Total Inability”, “Righteous Incapability”, “Radical Corruption” or even “Moral Inability”. Yet what is important is not the name assigned to the doctrine but how accurately the doctrine summarizes what the Bible teaches about the spiritual condition of fallen man. No matter which name you use to refer to “Total Depravity” the fact remains that when properly understood it is an accurate description of what the Bible does teach on this important subject.

While often misunderstood, the doctrine of Total Depravity is an acknowledgement that the Bible teaches that as a result of the fall of man (Genesis 3:6) every part of man—his mind, will, emotions and flesh—have been corrupted by sin. In other words, sin affects all areas of our being including who we are and what we do. It penetrates to the very core of our being so that everything is tainted by sin and “…all our righteous acts are like filthy rags” before a holy God (Isaiah 64:6). It acknowledges that the Bible teaches that we sin because we are sinners by nature. Or as Jesus says “So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.” (Matthew 7:17-18).

The total depravity of man is seen throughout the Bible. Man’s heart is “deceitful and desperately wicked” (Jeremiah 17:9) and the thoughts of his heart are “continually evil” (Genesis 6:5). The Bible also teaches us that man is born dead in transgression and sin (Psalm 51:5, Psalm 58:3, Ephesians 2:1-5). The Bible teaches that because unregenerate man is “dead in transgressions” (Ephesians 2:5), he is held captive by a love for sin (John 3:19; John 8:34) so that he will not seek God (Romans 3:10-11) because he loves the darkness (John 3:19) and does not understand the things of God (1 Corinthians 2:14). Therefore men suppress the truth of God in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18) and continue to willfully live in sin. Because they are totally depraved this sinful lifestyle seems right to men (Proverbs 14:12) so they reject the Gospel of Christ as foolishness (1 Corinthians 1:18) and their mind is “hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is unable to do so.” (Romans 8:7).

The Apostle Paul really summarizes the total depravity of man in Romans 3:9-18. He begins this passage by saying that “both Jews and Greeks are all under sin.” Simply put this means that man is under the control of sin or is controlled by his sin nature (his natural tendency to sin). The fact that unregenerate people are controlled by their selfish, sinful tendencies should not come as a surprise to any parent. What parent has to teach their children to be selfish, to covet what someone else has or to lie? Those actions come naturally from the child’s sin nature. Instead the parent must devote much time to teaching the child the importance of telling the truth, of sharing instead of being selfish, of obeying instead of rebelling, etc.

Then in the rest of this passage Paul quotes extensively from the Old Testament in explaining how sinful man really is. For example we see that: 1—no one is without sin, 2—no one seeks after God, 3—there is no one who is good, 4—their speech is corrupted by sin, 5—their actions are corrupted by sin, 6—and above all they have no fear of God. So when one considers even these few verses mentioned above it becomes abundantly clear the Bible does indeed teach that fallen man is “totally depraved” because sin affects all of him including his mind, will and emotions so that “There is none who does good, no not one” (Romans 3:12).

There is a common misconception regarding total depravity. It does not mean that man is as wicked or sinful as he could be, nor does it mean that man is without a conscience or any sense of right or wrong. Neither does it mean that man does not or cannot do things that seem to be good when viewed from a human perspective or measured against a human standard. It does not even mean that man cannot do things that seem to conform outwardly to the Law of God. What the Bible does teach and what total depravity does recognize is that even the “good” things man does are tainted by sin because they are not done for the glory of God and out of faith in Him (Romans 14:23; Hebrews 11:6). While man looks upon the outward acts and judges them to be good, God looks upon not only the outward acts but also the inward motives that lay behind them, and because they proceed from a heart that is in rebellion against Him and they are not done for His Glory even these good deeds are like “filthy rags” in His sight. In other words, fallen man’s good deeds are motivated not by a desire to please God but by our own self interest and are thus corrupted to the point where God declares that there is “no one who does good, no not one!”

Since Scripture is very clear that all of man is affected by sin and so much so that “no one seeks after God,” then how can anyone possibly become a Christian? The answer is that God must overcome man’s depravity in such a way that man is able to recognize his spiritual state and his hopeless condition apart from the grace of God. Man’s spiritually blind eyes must be open and the bondage of sin that renders him hopelessly enslaved must be broken so that he can respond in faith to the Gospel message and the atoning work of Christ on the cross. Some Christians believe that God accomplishes this through some type of universal grace whereby God brings man to a condition where he has the ability to choose or reject Him. Others believe that for a man who is “dead in trespasses and sins” to be able to understand and respond to the Gospel in faith, he must first be born again or regenerated by the Holy Spirit (John 3:3). It is only after God infuses spiritual life in a dead sinner that he can “see the kingdom of God.” Those that hold this view see this as being a sovereign act of God, whereby men are born again “not of the blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12-13).

However even when properly understood, many people will rebel or reject the doctrine of total depravity, but that fact should not surprise us since the world generally thinks of man as being basically good. Therefore the idea that man by nature is a depraved sinner runs contrary to most modern religious, psychological and philosophical views of the basic nature of man. But the fact is that the Bible does teach the depravity of the human heart and the root cause of man’s problem is not the environment he is raised in but that by nature man has a wicked and selfish heart. Properly understood, the doctrine of total depravity will destroy the hopes of those who place their faith in any type of works-based system of salvation and recognize that God’s sovereign grace is man’s only hope. While the doctrine of total depravity destroys man’s self righteousness and any misconceptions about man’s ability to be saved through his own free will, it leaves one asking the same question the disciples asked of Jesus in Matthew 19:25-26: “Then who can be saved?” Of course the answer remains the same: “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:25-26).

As the first of the five doctrines of what is called “Calvinism,” the doctrine of total depravity correctly focuses man’s attention on the rest of these “doctrines of grace” which declare the wondrous work of God in the salvation of sinners.
